Virtual Reality is paving the way for more accessible mindfulness, deeper meditation and psychological rehabilitation.
VR is used to aid in meditation, allowing you to be transported to calming scenes to ease in to deeper and more relaxed states. We’re very aware that not everybody finds it helpful to “picture a forest” we all have different personalities and activities that we find relaxing.
Whilst Virtual Reality is already established as an exciting home entertainment option, it’s now beginning to be valued for it’s ability to help profoundly wtih mental health.
Current research shows that immersion therapy can be achieved very succesfully in a virtual world allowing for gradual and controlled immersion within a safe environment. There are many examples of it being used for anything from tackling claustrophobia by placing people safely in smaller virtual spaces, to aiding those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
